Kelly Cooper, RHIA, CHPS, CCS, is the Regional HIM (Health Information Corporate Compliance Officer) for Solaris Clinical Consulting, overseeing HIM and HIPAA tasks for fifteen Skilled Nursing (SNF) and four Assisted Living Facilities (ALF) in the state of Florida.

Since joining the profession, Kelly has worked in the SNF/NF/ALF industry and has been dedicated to raising awareness of the need for educated and credentialed HIMs in this underserved area. Due to her passion for her industry she is recognized in Florida as a Subject Matter Expert on SNF/NF records, has reached across the aisle to other industry professional associations on advocacy and patient rights’ issues; and brought a team of loosely associated HIMs into a strong corporate program that serves over 2000 patients.

An avid learner, Kelly received her Associate’s of Applied Science degree from Santa Fe College (Gainesville, FL) and her Bachelor’s from Western Governor’s University (Salt Lake City, UT). She is also a highly active volunteer, beginning her service as a student and immediately moving into roles at the Regional, State, and National level upon graduation. She was honored to serve as the Co-Chair for the reinstated Long-Term Post-Acute Care Practice council in both 2019 and 2020.
