Betty A. Hovey, BSHAM, CCS-P, CDIP, CPC, COC, CPMA, CPCD, CPB, CPC-I, owns a health care consulting firm in the Chicago suburbs. She works with practices and facilities to help them stay compliant and profitable. She often writes articles and speaks at conferences, including ILHIMA and the national AHIMA conference. Betty has more than thirty years of healthcare experience, which includes providing educational sessions nationwide.

Betty holds a bachelor’s degree in Health Care Administration and Management from Colorado State University. She sits on the Advisory Board for QualityMD, the Editorial Board for BCAdvantage, and is a past member and officer of the National Advisory Board of AAPC. She holds multiple certifications through AHIMA and AAPC.
