Jeanne Freeman, PhD, MBA, RHIA
Jeanne Freeman, PhD, MBA, RHIA, located in Saint Louis, Missouri, serves as the Associate Department Chair/Program Director for the Masters in Health Informatics and Information Management program at Davenport University in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Prior to joining Davenport, Dr. Freeman taught for over 25 years in the Health Information and Information Management program at Saint Louis University. She wrote a book chapter on healthcare reimbursement for a textbook in Clinical Laboratory Science and in Physical Therapy. Dr. Freeman also served on the steering committee for a program in Interdisciplinary Education at the Doisy College of Allied Health. In addition to her education experience, she has served as the Administrator/Director for Health Information at the Washington University School of Medicine and Saint Louis University Hospital.
Dr. Freeman received her MBA and her PhD in Leadership and Higher Education from Saint Louis University. She is a peer reviewer for Perspectives in Health Information Management, the research journal for the American Health Information Management Association. She has served as President of the Missouri Health Information Management Association and as Student Liaison on the Board for the Midwest Gateway HIMSS chapter.
Dr. Freeman has given numerous presentations at the state and national level on a variety of topics related to the health information management profession. Her research has focused on the shortage of faculty in the HIM profession.
